Looks even different now!!
So my last post was in October 2008.. Something happened, but it looks like things are getting back on track. Just have to get the gallery back up.
What week did I stop at? So long ago already. So long, that I’ve been on the job and just have a few weeks of training to go. Things are going okay. The job has really been an experience. I don’t think there is another job in the world quite like it. I work nights now, and it isn’t so bad. Well, not as bad as I thought it would be. I can’t believe how much stuff there is to learn and pickup on at work. It seems like I learn something new everyday. In the meantime, my son was born. Born SUPER early and has had a tough life even though it’s been a short one. He spent 4+ months in the hospital but is now home. Needless to say, life has dramatically changed for me. Always gotta think about the baby now. No more me and the wife… It’s “us” for reall now. lol
Wow.. Just 3 weeks left before the “real” test comes! It’s coming to an end quickly. Had to take the state tests Friday and passed those, so I have my first change in “status.” Had a good workout on Friday. So much that I dropped 5 pounds in a day! LOL. I am really going to have to take care of myself when I am done or I will be the “typical” donut eating person you think of. lol. Week 7 was packed with studying. I spent 3 to 4 hours a night preparing for the Friday test. It was pretty stressful, but glad it’s over. I don’t think I ever seen the team more excited as I did Friday when everyone was told that they passed. Not only did we pass as a team, but we set a record for the average score for the test! Ofcourse, we couldn’t go through the week without getting checked a couple times. 7 weeks in and we still are doing some dumb things.. Time to order my duty gear! woot!
Well, I didn’t really do much of an update for week 5. Week 5 ended with a lot of physical activities, leaving me pretty banged up for the weekend. Nothing some Ibuprofen couldn’t handle! LOL. Other than that, the typical testing and getting yelled at for slacking off.
Week 6 was interesting. I was introduced to chemical agents. It was a day I will never forget. It was also a week filled with tests. A total of 7. (if I recall correctly) I passed all of them. A lot of teamwork and relationships are starting to grow. Everyone if pulling toghether and rallying amongst each other. It’s a great atmosphere. I can’t believe there are 4 weeks to go! 6 weeks has gone by so fast! Week 7, here I come!
Another week complete. 6 more to go. I really doesn’t stop there as I will be getting to the nitty-gritty of things. Anyone can be a professional based of books and tests. Real, on the job training, is what will ultimately be the deciding factor. After 4 weeks, I am tied at the top of the class for overall test scores. That’s a shocker to me.. I’m just happy to be passing everything so far. I’ve just been studying like mad and hoping for the best. Had 3 days of PT this week. The third day was pretty brutal!! I think I finally got my strength back… lol.. Got more studying to do this weekend, so I better get on it!!
